What a day!!

Not much time to write, but we are now $1,243 closer to our goal...with still one more day of selling and probably 40% of our stuff left! Praise God for His grace in giving us beautiful weather, lots of shoppers, and lots of friends who blessed us greatly today with smoothies, drive-thru, giving us a break at the money table, words of encouragement, help with set-up and clean-up and a steak and potato dinner! enjoy the pictures!

This week we are working on sorting and pricing garage sale "treasures"! Thanks to those of you who have donated this week. Yes, I have determined we are crazy...and yes, I remind myself that the Lord will help us to complete this seemingly monumental task. Our basement is practically not usable for family time anymore, but for a time this is perfectly fine :) We received our letter from the police station - Yay! We might be having our home study visit at the end of this week - Yay! We found out that we need to send for a copy of our income tax form that is signed. We made a copy before it was signed and Holt is not sure if a signature is required or not, so they are advising us to get a copy of our signed tax form from the IRS. Unfortunately, this could take up to 90 days for them to process...bummer. Please pray with us that our request will be processed and sent sooner rather than later.

An afternoon at Schmick's Market

The ribeye steak sandwiches were a hit! The proceeds from the grill-out given to us for the adoption were a little over one thousand dollars. Pretty amazing when you think that the sandwiches were only $2 each and they only grilled for 2 hours! Thank you to all of you who came out for a bite to eat, all those who offered us encouraging words, and most of all to the Schmick family for being so crazy generous to us! I can't wait to bring our little one home to show you how much all this means to us :) My parents were a big help. I wouldn't have been able to stay, I'm sure, if my mom hadn't been there to sit with Juliana and Evan at the picnic table. They were so patient, Evan in his little cart and Juliana with her crayons and color book.

As of 10:45 pm the sign is finished! Sharon did an awesome job on the lettering and i finished it off with some added special touches! i hope nobody looks at the actual map behind the vellum paper b/c it is really Quebec, not Ethiopia or Nebraska (Ha!). i do have to give a shout out for my mother-in-law Cheryl who is a scrap-booking expert. see, i have been watching and learning and the only reason i have the supplies to do this is b/c you have given them to me as gifts. Thanks Cheryl!

I love Spring!

I'm still trying to figure out how to attach my audio file to the blog - the one with Jason Schmick talking about us on the radio. So far i've gotten it copied to the computer, but i don't know where the file went. Hopefully Craig will be able to help me this evening. This morning I got an unexpected phone call from a lady in town who works for an organization called Adoption Consultants, Inc. She saw Schmicks ad in the paper for the BBQ and wanted to know if she could include us in the family picnics they do for multi-racial adoptive families in the area. I was glad that she thought of us and will look forward to meeting more families in the area since they seem to be few and far between in western nebraska. Sharon finished our sign and it looks wonderful! I will have to get a picture of it on the blog soon as well. Please pray with us for a successful and fun BBQ tomorrow afternoon!!
